Fruit Spraying Regime

Spray amounts

2 tablespoons per gallon each of Imidan (insecticide) and Captan (fungicide)
*** Also use Pinene II (a sticker-spreader-extender)

Spray_Amount

Procedure

  • Wear gloves, goggles, and respirator
  • Fill sprayer with the amount of water required
  • Add chemicals per chart above
  • Agitate/mix VERY WELL (5 minutes)
  • Spray with as fine a mist as possible on both leaves and limbs, watching for drift, until the product just drips off leaves
  • Best to spray in low wind (to avoid drift) and after dusk (to avoid as much as possible affecting beneficial pollinators)
  • Remember, you’re spraying an insecticide, so it will kill even beneficial pollinators
  • When spraying is complete, run a gallon or more of clean water thru the sprayer
  • Suggest you take a shower after spraying

“Tight Cluster to First Pink” — First cover spray

This is "full pink".  Do not spray after this stage until 90% of the pedals have fallen
This is “full pink”. Do not spray after this stage until 90% of the pedals have fallen

During Bloom: NO CHEMICALS SPRAYED – COULD KILL BEES!

90% Petal Fall — Second cover spray

Thereafter: Every 7 to 10 days until July 1st, then every 10 to 14 days for the month of July
